This is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
But finally, after finding a new web host (electronic hat tip to Doug Haslam for recommending BlueHost – very easy to work with!) and tinkering with WordPress for a couple of weeks, I’m pleased to announce that effective immediately, my primary blogging will be done here at BryanPerson.com.
My Bryper.com site isn’t going away completely, though. I’ll keep it online as an archive of my last two years’ worth of blogging. But unless I change my mind or am convinced otherwise, those posts won’t be imported to this blog. While Bryper.com is the place where I made my first true entry into social media, I kind of like the idea of starting this blog anew.
I will try to bring along my RSS readers from the old site, though. If I’ve done this right and properly redirected my feed, subscribers to my former blog — I hope that means you! — will see this post in their RSS readers without a hitch.
What you’ll see from me
I like to write and talk about social media, social networking, and building community — both online and off — and what the the tools and tactics of the social web can mean for you or your business.
But I have other interests, too. I’m a diehard Boston Red Sox fan, for example (first pitch of the 2008 season will be thrown 70 hours and 57 minutes from now — not that I’m counting, of course), so expect a little sporting news thrown into my blogging mix. I’m also a guy who likes eating breakfast.
How you can participate
Blogging’s a lot more fun when I hear from you, so I encourage you to leave comments. If I should happen to say something that’s wise every now and again, I won’t mind if you tell me so. But when I’m all wet, don’t be shy to let me know that, either.
So welcome to BryanPerson.com, my new blogging home. It’s good to be here — and to have you along for the ride.

22|Mar|2008 2I just read it in my reader, so all systems go for RSS transfer. It’s a good move, now I’m wondering if I’m going to have to move to kyleflaherty.com??

22|Mar|2008 4Hey Bryan! Congrats on moving. I know it’s probably a tough decision (especially with the thought of some people not migrating to the new site) but I’m sure it’ll work out in the end. Looking forward to your next post!

22|Mar|2008 5Best of luck with the new site, Bryan. Your feed re-direct must have worked because you popped up in my gReader this morning. I’ve also been using Bluehost and find it very easy and user friendly. (You know it has to be if even *I’ve* been able to manage and host multiple domains on 1 account there.
Karen <—— sporting her Sox hat today too

23|Mar|2008 6I support your plan to leave your archive at the old domain.
Moving them would break all the permalinks, making it harder for people to find the old stuff via their bookmarks and the search engines.

24|Mar|2008 7Thanks to everyone for your comments. I’m sorry for the delay in approving them. One step I seemed to miss before launching this blog was making sure my proper e-mail address was listed in my account settings. That would have ensured I received prompt notification of your comments.
@MitchJoel: Don’t worry: You can continue to call me Bryper. No objections
