The built-in 2 megapixel camera in my new iPhone 3G will probably never produce any award-winning photos, but here’s the key: It makes publishing a “good enough” photo to the web an absolute breeze.
Here’s the basic two-step process I’m using to publish photos to my Flickr and Brightkite photo streams:

And that’s all there is to it. The photo is online and available to the masses.
For almost-instant publishing, this is much faster than “the old way”: 1) removing the Flash card from my digital camera and plopping it into my card reader 2) transferring photos to my hard drive 3) selecting and uploading best photos 4) publishing images and adding captions.
See the photo at the top of this post? It’s of my son coloring during a family dinner we attended last night. The image may not be brilliant in quality, but it captures the moment quite nicely. And it took all of two minutes to publish with the help of my iPhone.

14|Aug|2008 2Good stuff, Bryan. I do the same thing with Typepad. During my recent trip across the US, I did a basic point, shoot, email - and created a photoblog of the journey. Works just like you suggest - set up the unique email identifier in Typepad and email away.
For those who need some help sleeping tonight, feel free to browse my cross country photo blog here
